Thu 6/18/2015 12:08 AM It was reported to both the News and the parents of the school that all teachers at the school were being asked to reapply for their positions and that if they agreed to the reimagined goals of the school they would be allowed to return. Now it seems that this is not true and HR has stated the intent to transfer all teachers. This seems like a drastic action to take which cannot be good for the the students. As stated in the letter, "all West Valley classroom teachers will be transferred to other District schools" and "For teachers who have given the District a preference list of school site assignments as West Valley only, please know that your preference for West Valley only is not an option." so there will be no continuity for the students next year. In addition, given the high level of experience and performance in the current staff, it will not be possible to fill each and every position at the school with candidates that are at least as highly qualified as the current teachers. So the result will be a lower qualified staff and zero continuity. This seems totally irresposible. -- Bill White
